I'm still working on picture boards, table details, church music, and dance practices. Many things will need to be picked-up or bought the week before the event which is nerve wracking. The tentative schedule of the day has been made which puts my mind at ease a bit. I'm learning to step away from certain projects and focus on what is mandatory.

I'm so looking forward to seeing old friends and family I have not seen in a long time! We need to celebrate joy and enjoy each other's company whenever we can.

Holiday Discounts!!

First chance to shop for on SALE! Everything here was less than $10! Do I know what I will do with any of it?... nooo. Just kidding. I always see potential. The problem is choosing what to use. So far I'm concentrating on white since I'm not sure how all the blue colors will mesh. Kati said she doesn't want a sea of ice blue, so I'm attempting to collect a variety.


Not sure what to do since only 25% have responded to the save the date cards. The caterer will bring tacos al pastor with 100 people which we do not have. The cake is also serving about 100 but there is no reason for a beautiful 2 tier cake with the current guest count. (sigh) What to do? So far I haven't spent much on table decorations. I really don't want empty tables, extra invites, tons of cake, unused decorations... It's hard to hold myself back when I have no clue how many might be coming.

The plans continue........

Despite the holiday crowds, I keep my eye out for sales of décor for the party. (Preferably blue, white or silver picked out of the ocean of Christmas red and green.)

Katalina has been measured for her special sparkly ice blue dress. Dance songs are being arranged.

The Beginning of a Journey

Seven months of planning until Katalina's Quinceanera May 30, 2015 in Santee, CA.

 

Although our family does not speak Spanish fluently, this is a special occasion to denote a young lady's grace in growing up in the Church.
